Lazy Sunday DIY At-Home Facial – Effective Products That Deliver

A DIY facial doesn’t mean you’re going to rummage through your kitchen to whip up a mask or moisturizer; it’s about using professional pharmaceutical grade skincare products in the privacy of your own home.  Many of us suffer from skin issues and lately I’ve been combatting allergies that have taken a toll on my nightly skin rituals, basically I haven’t been as diligent and my skin was not glowing without the help of illuminators and other makeup tricks.

My object is to wake up with glowing skin, so that if I choose to wear makeup my skin is enhanced and not concealed.  This was sadly not the case and this Sunday I had time to devote to my skin’s recovery.

Start with a moisturizing milky cleanser to remove dirt and impurities, use a facial scrub and a purifying mask or a safe at-home peel.  Follow up with a hydrating mask or an oxygen mask to replenish the skin.  Once all of this was done, I misted a beauty elixir, applied lip balm, eye cream, face oil and a lifting paper mask that forced me to relax for 10 minutes.

My results were immediately felt and seen, my skin was clean, clear and healthy.  My natural glow came back thanks’ to the products I chose and all without the use of makeup.

What did I use?

Daily Wonder Cleansing Foam cleanser by Amarte – a part toner and cleanser rolled into one, perfect for acne prone skin and moisturizing too! $60

Offects Exfoliating Polish by ZO Skin Health – this is actually my favorite facial scrub, the scrub is fine, the scent of sulfur is intoxicating and skin is clean, smooth and just polished to perfection.  $60

Clinical Peel & Reveal Dermal Resurfacer by Peter Thomas Roth – a heavy duty peel that you actually feel working.  A three-in-one peel with Alpha Hydroxy Acid, exfoliate with Pumpkin Enzyme, and polish with Aluminum Oxide. $58

Bliss Triple Oxygen Energizing Mask by Bliss – a quick fix for dull and tired skin, lightens and tightens the skin infusing it with a huge dose of Vitamin C. Your skin will look younger and glow instantly. $54

Beauty Elixir by Caudalie – by far my favorite mist, after a week of continued use you will notice tighter skin, pores are minimized and skin is radiant. There is a reason why this is a beauty cult essential loved by everyone with healthy skin. $18

Homeoplasmine – a Parisian import that prevents chapped lips and great for other body parts. I apply this to my lips twice a day and never leave home without it. $22

LUMIÈRE Eye Cream by Neocutis – my favorite eye cream, gives you an eyelift within a 6 week period, use twice a day every day to see results. You will look refreshed and wide awake, naturally. $62

Juno Transformative Lipid serum by Sunday Riley – the most amazing face oil in the world, can be worn alone or applied under makeup.  I mix mine with a radiance cream before my makeup every morning. Skin is infused with rich botanicals, vitamins and a special NV5 Complex. $125

Lifting Mask by Estetil – my sister Dora knows I’m a huge skincare junkie and brought me back several paper masks by this brand from her recent trip to Florence. I relaxed with this once the Juno absorbed into my skin, and removed to discover firmer and healthier skin.

My definition of an-at-home facial is the use of products that you normally don’t use in your everyday skincare regimen; it’s the use of pharmaceutical grade ingredients recommended by a professional for at-home maintenance.  I recommend a professional facial at least once every 3 months to once every 6 months or whenever needed.

Healthy skin is a combination of DIY products and professional guidance, no one can maintain healthy skin alone.

Here’s to putting your best face forward!
